Adoptable Animals.
You could make an incredible difference in an animal’s life. Why not start here?
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR RANDOM SPECIES NOT LISTED. You will not receive an answer. Due to our high volume of submissions, we do not keep applications on file if they are not for a listed animal. Please only apply for an animal if they are posted on this page.
Be advised, we are located in New Jersey, and do not ship animals.
A $50 adoption donation applies to reptile adoptions. In compliance with New Jersey turtle regulations, turtles are adopted without an associated monetary donation.
Luther the ball python
Luther is an approximately 6 year old male ball python. Luther has a calm demeanor, is a great eater, and is happy to explore his enclosure (or climb every inch of your body). He’s a healthy young man, with a robust build. He’d be happy to find his forever home with someone who loves to be hands-on with snakes.
Pancake the bearded dragon.
Pancake is a 3 year old male bearded dragon. For the last two out of the three years that he’s been alive, he has not fed live insects, only vegetables.
We have successfully corrected his diet, and he has no hesitation with consuming bugs.
Pancake has been in ‘socialization rehab’ with us, as he is unsure of the intentions of humans. Being so unsure, he becomes defensive. We’ve made slight progress in his socialization, but know that he will likely always be a ‘sassy’ lizard. The first few minutes of handling Pancake, are the hardest. After that, he begins to calm down and relax.
Pancake was not handled much before coming to us, and this has affected his socialization immensely.
With all of this in mind, Pancake must be adopted to an adult-only home, with prior bearded dragon experience.
He requires much patience, and his potential adopter must understand that Pancake is very defensive when nervous. He is just fine when in his enclosure, when being fed, and when left to his own exploration. The initial amount of human contact, is the hardest for him. We will continue working with him daily, but are aware that he may always be defensive with his unsure nature towards humans.
You can apply for his adoption at wearsaves.org. If you’d like to email us with any questions prior to filling out an application, please feel free - wearsaves@gmail.com
Ghost is not soft. He is not cuddly. If you’re looking for a lizard that wants to sit in your hands and bond. This is not the lizard. Ghost would like to respectfully decline.
Do you enjoy animals that silently scream into the abyss?
Creatures that may attempt an roll when picked up?
A small reptile that prefers to observe humanity from a safe emotional distance?
Then Ghost might be your guy.
Ghost is a very cute leopard gecko who enjoys eating enthusiastically and staring at you as you walk by his enclosure judging your life choices. He thrives when admired rather than handled.
Ghost is a 6 year old adorable bundle of inner crocodiles. He’s been through multiple homes, to no fault of his own. Previous beginning stages of MBD & Mouth Rot have been corrected, and he’s ready to be loved forever.
Ideal home: someone who appreciates reptiles for their beauty and personality, and is perfectly happy with a pet that prefers being looked at instead of cuddled.
