Founder & President

Brittany Vanderstine

Brittany is from Ocean County, NJ. She graduated with her bachelors in Criminal Justice, concentrating in Criminal Law, from Kean University. Following this honor’s graduation, she acquired her Animal Control Officer Certification, from Somerset County Police Academy. Brittany plans on continuing her criminal justice journey to further help animals in need through the legal system.

Currently, she is a wildlife rehabilitation apprentice at Garden State Wildlife Center. Specializing in neonatal wildlife babies, she rarely sleeps, but insists that screaming infant raccoons is better than any sound sleep. Raccoons have quickly become her affinity.

Regularly, Brittany works with World Wildlife Fund, an international wildlife protection organization. She is an ambassador for wildlife poaching defenses, land and animal conservation, and lawmaking, on an international level.

Brittany’s first job in the animal rescue world, was working for Associated Humane Societies, caring for sick dogs and cats, in the medical area. Her heart will forever stay with the dog-fighting victims, the animals with physical abuse scars, and the animals who were so scared to move after being abandoned by their families. Moving positions, she then became an exotic animal caretaker at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, caring for rescued monkeys. tigers, cougars, lions, horses, goats and large birds, amongst many other species.

In 2021, Brittany realized that she was killing and eating more animals than she was saving, making her rescue mission less than affective. Realizing this, she started her journey into becoming vegan.

“If you’re going to talk the talk about animal rescue, then you must walk the walk. Animal rescue is all or nothing. You can’t spend your day saving animals, then go home and do just as much harm at your dinner table. That is hypocrisy in its finest.”

Brittany has dedicated her entire life to fighting the cruelty and abuse that animals face on a daily basis, and has no plans on stopping anytime soon. There is a lifetime of fight ahead of her, and she is very excited for it.

Robert Price

Rob is from Ocean County, NJ. He has an affinity for birds, domestic, native, and exotic. He has spent his time alongside birds for many years, and plans to continue rescuing feathered friends in need for a lifetime to come. Additionally, he takes large interest in aquatic life, and nobody would be surprised if he decided to open his own aquatic rescue one day.

Rob became part of WEAR in 2022, when he found us fundraising at a nature festival, and insisted on becoming a part of what we do. Becoming vegan shortly after his joining, Rob realized that his morals and actions didn’t quite align. Caring for the wellbeing of animals so intently, he realized that eating them was counterintuitive.

He can typically be found at every event we do, but you’ll have to do some searching first. He WILL be in line at a food truck, but you just have to figure out which one it is. Rob’s dedication doesn’t stop at vegan food trucks, as he has spent countless hours at emergency veterinarian clinics. Taking some of our most critical cases in his hands, Rob outdoes himself time and time again, to show his dedications for all species of animals.

Administration

Anabelle Dunn

Anabelle is from Ocean County NJ. She currently attends Lewis & Clark Law School, with the goal of becoming an animal rights attorney. When Anabelle is not in law school, she works for People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals. When not in school or work, she can be found volunteering at vegan-ran sanctuaries, as pictured. Anabelle has been vegan since she was a teenager, and has never turned a blind eye to animals in need.

Anabelle and Brittany went to school together, then lost contact after graduation for a handful of years. Serendipitously running into each other years later in the animal rights community, the friendship was rekindled and Anabelle quickly became a staple part of our team.

She has an affinity for Betta fish, and is an incredible fish advocate. Betta fish are one of the many animals that come from terrible breeding facilities, and come out of the pet-trade with life-threatening health issues. Regardless of species, Anabelle handles her compassionate fight with strength and grace.
